MetaCell® Nonetheless, detection and isolation of CTCs is technically quite challenging. First, there is a relative small number of CTCs in peripheral blood, approx. 1 CTC to 106–109 normal blood cells. A second challenge comes from their biological heterogeneity. The most popular methods for CTCs isolation are immunomagnetic enrichment, size-based filtration and density gradient methods.
